Today's Technology Commentary Posted on January 8, 2014 by RobertGJanuary 9, 2014

Red Hat: http://www.redhat.com/about/news/press-archive/2014/1/red-hat-and-centos-join-forces CentOS: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2014-January/020100.html Potentially, this would certainly result in CentOS versions being released earlier, after the corresponding Red Hat Enterprise release date..    It may be that the release of both versions will … Continue reading →

Today's Technology Commentary Posted on November 3, 2012 by RobertGNovember 9, 2012

I had been resisting the urge to publish a commentary on all the ‘Cloud’ hype out there..   Until now… As others have pointed out, a cloud used to be the standard image for ‘the external network’ in slide presentations going back to the pre-web days of the 80s.. I should know, because I created many such slides, … Continue reading →

The Perils of Themes..

Today's Technology Commentary Posted on October 27, 2012 by RobertGOctober 27, 2012

One of the good things about open technology is that anyone with a modicum of skills can create stuff, and this includes themes – the layout and colours and fonts and positioning of graphical content.   I have encountered this in browsers (Firefox) as well as here and now – in WordPress.. The only problem, is that so … Continue reading →
